There are countless victims of fires and other incidents with scars or burns who lack the financial means to pay for HaarStamcel Transplantatie® (HST). Health insurance does not always cover such treatments as they are not seen as ‘medically necessary’. The psychological suffering of such victims is however considerable.
The objectives of the foundation are to make HST possible for these patients through fundraising. Professor H.A.M. Neumann of the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam and Dr Cynthia Lafaire of the after-care and research centre Oscare in Antwerp are the patron and patroness of the foundation.
